Materials: For one ice cream cone
| |
- 1 Real 'sugar' ice cream cone or use a novelty container shaped as an ice cream cone. If novelty container is clear glass, fill with small colored candies.
- 1/2 Brick floral foam
- 1 Small disposable hard plastic plate (to protect cone from wet floral foam)
- 6 to 7 Stems miniature pink carnations or white daisy chrysanthemums
- Floral clippers, knife, scissors and flower food/preservative
| Directions:
Step 1 - Cut floral foam into a small cube to fit the top of the cone. Soak in water that has been treated with floral preservative for at least 30 minutes.
Step 2 - Cut a circle out from the plastic plate to fit the diameter of the top of the cone. Make a small hole (the diameter of a flower stem) in the center of the circle.
Step 3 - Use a discarded flower stem as a skewer. Run the stem inside the circle's hole and up into the cubed floral foam. Now insert the skewered items into the cone (cutting the stem so that the foam sits on top of the cone.) If using a novelty container fill it with colored candies and then insert skewer.
