Materials: for one personalized placecard

Petal Personalization
  • 1 artichoke
  • Approximately 4 fruits and/or veggies of your choice (i.e. cantaloupe, onion, potatoes, bell pepper, gourds etc.)
  • 1 stem lavender freesia
  • optional - 2 stems ivy or gaylex leaves
  • 1 watertube
  • Paper placecard
  • Old fashioned vegetable peeler (the long kind for carrots or potatoes)
  • Floral preservative, knife and clippers
Directions:
Step 1 - Cut the stem off the artichoke. Also cut the leaf end off about 1-inch.

Step 2 - With vegetable peeler, scoop out center to make a long deep hole.

Step 3 - Fill the watertube with water that has been treated with floral preservative.

Step 4 - Cut the freesia to about 3-inches in length and insert it into the watertube. Insert the ivy or gaylex leaves low into the watertube. Now insert the water tube into the hole of the artichoke.

Step 5 - Write the guests' name on the place card and allow the artichoke leaves to hold it in place.
