Can-Do Attitude - Recipe by Jill Slater
Materials:
- 5 empty, bright cans with fun lively labels, sizes small to very large
- Floral foam, approximately 4 bricks
- Flowers- 1 dozen red roses, 3 stems white daisy mums, 1 dozen white standard carnations, 1 large bunch white statice, and 5 stems rosemary. (NOTE- You will need enough flowers to fill each can- While you can do what I did, you might want to "Do your own thing," using flowers and colors to match your own cans and décor.)
- Floral clippers and scissors and preservative
| Directions:
Step 1 - Soak the floral foam in water that has been treated with floral preservative.
Step 2 - Cut the foam to fit each can. The foam should meet the top of the each can. Now fill each can with water that has been treated with floral preservative.
Step 3 - Cut the flower stems about 2-inches in length. Fill each can with one flower variety, inserting flowers very close to each other. Use the rosemary a bit taller than the flowers and insert their stems along with another type of flower, such as the roses, as I did.
Step 4 - Stack the cans on top of each other and side by side. (It may be necessary to remove some of the flowers in the stacking process. That's okay, use these flowers in another container in another part of the house.) Now you've got a Can-Do Attitude.
