October 19, 2000 - Consumers and retailers across the country are invited to explore the new possibilities for flowers online at www.flowerpossibilities.com, the Flower Promotion Organization's newly launched website. The website takes the advertising campaign to a new level, providing consumers, floral retailers and the press with another resource to learn about the exciting new ways to use flowers.

As a logical next step for the comprehensive marketing campaign, the Flower Promotion Organization (FPO) has developed a comprehensive website to market the possibilities for flowers. The site provides consumers with easy access to usage ideas, cut flower care and handling information, flower variety information and links to other industry sites. There is also a section just for the press, which includes FPO trade press releases, consumer trade press releases, background information and frequently asked questions. Retailers too can reap a host of benefits by visiting this site. They can view the actual ads, learn about FPO's advertising schedule and provide the FPO with comments and feedback. They can also order the point-of-purchase materials via an on-line order form. Retailers simply place their orders on line, and orders are forwarded directly to the fulfillment house for instant processing. While the campaign is targeted to five markets, the website provides the opportunity for retailers around the country to participate.

The website augments the strong advertising campaign now underway. The five markets (Philadelphia, Houston, Chicago, Detroit and San Diego) are currently seeing three one-page print ads and two thirty-second commercials promoting the use of flowers as unique home décor items. The advertising will run through October, and resume in March 2001. The point-of-purchase materials are available at cost to all retailers within and beyond the five markets.
