Sometimes referred to as the scarlet plume, euphorbia fulgens, a shrub, is a native of Mexico but is cultivated as a cut flower.

Care and Handling
Some people are sensitive to the sap and develop poison-ivy-like symptoms from contact with it. People who have sensitive skin may wish to apply a skin sealant to their hands, or use impermeable gloves when working with euphorbia fulgens. If rashlike symptoms develop, consult a dermatologist.
