Origins The blue petals of the Centaurea cyanus are familiar to most florists and consumers. A member of the Compositae family, the cornflower is a native of the Mediterranean region and the Near East.
Availability and Vase Life March through November. 4-7 days.
Design Uses One of the few truly blue flowers. Popular in corsages, boutonnieres, and wedding design, cornflowers dry well. Spray with a sealant after drying to prevent shattering.
Colors: Blue, pink, white, and purple.
